Aaron Copland

Aaron Copland was one of the most influential American composers of the 20th century. Born in 1900 in Brooklyn, New York, Copland is known for creating a distinctly American musical style that drew on folk music, jazz, and other indigenous American influences.

Copland's early musical training was in Paris, where he studied with the renowned teacher Nadia Boulanger in the 1920s.
